Moroni's Promise

We've all heard of Mormonism. But do any of us (including most Mormons) know what it's about? I've started doing some research into the religion so that I can continue a recent debate I was in, and I came across "Moroni's Promise," which is a promise, by the prophet Moroni, that the book of Mormon is true. And if you can't trust Moroni, whom can you trust? Here now, in all its glory, is Moroni's Promise, with my commentary [in brackets]:

"Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, [Right. God. Merciful.] from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. [Cool. We don't have to take this at face value. Think about it. But not in your brain. In your heart.]

"And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. [So, if you don't believe all this stuff. No worries. Go ahead and ask Jesus. He'll tell you that this is true!]

"And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

Alright. I've read some. I don't believe it's true, so I asked Jesus. No reply yet. I'll let you know as soon as he gets back to me.

This is an interesting little endeavor. I've heard something about Spirit Babies in Mormonism. Can't wait for that part!
