Gomez

Rachel and I went to the Gomez concert last night at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. It was a hell of a show. Their opening act was Rodrigo y Gabriela. If you haven't heard this group, listen to them; they are awesome! I have never seen such amazing guitar playing. Rachel and I both bought their CD at the show.

Then, of course, Gomez. As expected, they were a lot of fun. They played for almost 2 hours solid, which is not bad, considering it was a co-bill. They came out in costume and ended up swapping costume pieces throughout the show. At one point, one of them was a redneck pope holding a shepherd's staff. Rachel and I were front-and-center, right on the rail. Towards the end of the concert, they started throwing their costume pieces into the crowd. I ended up with the lead singer's cape.

The next band up was Robert Randolph and the Family Band. We were less than impressed and left early.

Good times.

I didn't like their music. Why would I link them? They're lucky I even put their name here!

I agree with Toby, they were not something that I particularly enjoyed. I got the fairie wand that one of the guitar players at stuck in the strings in the neck of the guitar! We got almost all the cool stuff. I wanted the pair of bunny ears, but they threw them more toward the middle.
