Three men walked into a hotel. The front-desk agent told them that their room would cost them a total of $30, so each man paid $10, then proceeded to their room. After checking them in, the agent realized that the room should have only costed them $25. So, he sent the bellman to the room with $5. On the way, the bellman could not figure out how to split the $5 between the three men, so he decided to give them each one dollar and he kept the other two.

So, the three men each paid $9 for their room, totaling $27. The bellman kept two dollars. $27 and $2 is $29.
